an Accountant experienced "in accounts in connection with

I may add that I go further than to consider the

an experienced Accountant
advisable. In my opinion his
services are indispensable if a
good working system of accounts
is to be successfully carried out. With the multifarious duties of the Surveyor General he cannot give that time and attention to the details of the accounts which
are necessary to ensure an efficient
departmental supervision and control. The chief duty of the Accountant would be to inaugurate
and supervise the Public Works, the Praya
and the Stores accounts.
I recommend that he
be sent out under a
three
years engagement. Should a
vacancy occur in other Department
it is possible that the services of one
of the Clerks now acquainted with the Public Works accounts may be
dispensed with after the new
Accountant has made himself
thoroughly familiar with the work.
It is most important
that the new Accountant should
be sent out as early as possible.
